Dwayne Barnes
Biography
Mr. Barnes is the Color Guard director for the marching band. He graduated with a BS in Communications. His sole responsibility is to recruit, train and retain members for the Sound of the Sandhills Athletic Bands Color Guard program. This runs during the fall semester with marching band and then spring semester with the winter guard. His background includes working with many HS and University bands from eastern North Carolina. Also, he is an independent judge for local marching band shows where he either adjudicates color guard or visuals. He is a full-time employee with the Department of Plant & Microbial Biology at NC State University where his job title is Graduate Services Coordinator. Twice he has won the Pride of the Wolfpack award. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Carolina Visual Productions winter guard and a member of the Hall of Honor for the Atlantic Indoor Association.
