Biography
Hattie Smith works as the Access Services Librarian at Wiggins Memorial Library. Hattie oversees the fulfillment of interlibrary loan requests, assists in providing library services for Campbell’s Second Chance Initiative, and is a part of both the reference and circulation teams. She joined the library in June of 2025 after working for two years as a graduate library assistant at UNC Chapel Hill.
Hattie earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Environmental Sciences from Campbell University in 2023. She also received the Doris Mary Christian Distinguished English Major award from Campbell for outstanding academic performance. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Library Science from UNC Chapel Hill in 2025. Upon graduation from UNC, Hattie was presented with the Outstanding Service to the School award from the School of Information and Library Science.
