Biography
Dr. Vitaglione earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Guilford College, N.C. and his Master’s and Doctorate in Psychology from Kansas State University. He was Professor and Chair of the Psychology Department at WVU Tech for 12 years. He then served as the Tech University Strategic Planning Coordinator for 2 years, and for 3 years he was the Academic Dean of the Teays Valley campus of Strayer University and the Senior Academic Advisor for all Strayer campuses in the Carolinas.
Dr. Vitaglione’s specialization is in social and developmental psychology. His teaching and research interests include emotions such as empathy and grief, and the social-emotional impact of electronic media on youths and adults. His most recent project, with a group of students, examines personality predictors of online aggressive behaviors.
Dr. Vitaglione has won multiple teaching awards in both traditional classroom and fully-online learning environments.
