Biography

In September 2024, Samuel “Sam” Thorne joined Campbell University as a Legal Fellow in its Office of General Counsel. In January 2026, Sam was elevated to Assistant General Counsel. He helps the Office of General Counsel advise Campbell on numerous legal topics. Prior to joining Campbell’s Office of General Counsel, Sam held internships with Campbell’s Athletic Compliance Department, the North Carolina Supreme Court, Campbell’s Office of General Counsel, and the North Carolina General Assembly.

Sam recently graduated from Campbell’s School of Law (JD ’24) and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Pre-Law from Campbell in 2020. While earning his undergraduate degree, Sam played football for the Fighting Camels.
