Biography

BME, East Carolina University; M.S.Ed., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Allan Winter is the horn instructor for Campbell University. He studied With Thomas Holden and Daniel Perantoni at the University of Illinois, Arnold Jacobs of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, James Parnell at East Carolina University and Edwin Thayer of the National Symphony. While at Illinois, he studied conducting under Dr. Harry Begian and Dr. Paul Vermel. An active French horn player, he has been a member of the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, the DuPage Winds of Chicago, the University of Illinois Symphonic Band and the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Mr. Winter is a member of the FayAllegro Woodwind Quintet and principal horn for the Sandhills Wind Symphony.
