Dr. Ann M. Ortiz

Biography

Dr. Ann Ortiz has taught at Campbell for 24 years and was at UNC-Chapel Hill and Wake Tech before coming to us at Campbell. Dr. Ortiz is active in the community through her Spanish language interpretation and musical activities. She is married to Francisco Ortiz, a civil engineer, and has two grown children, both of whom are married. Dr. Ortiz plays the piano at her local church. She recently presented at the NC Museum of History for the Society for the Histories of Discovery. She is writing a book for students and healthcare providers in medical Spanish. She has presented in the US and the Dominican Republic on medical Spanish programs. With the DPI she worked on a team for writing of new standards for the NC Foreign Language Standard Course of Studies for the Public Schools.
