Biography
Brian Edlin is a member with the law firm of Jordan Price Wall Gray Jones & Carlton in Raleigh, North Carolina. Brian has been in practice for 16 years and is a member of the North Carolina and American Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in North Carolina and the U.S. District Courts, for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina. Brian has substantial trial and appellate experience in cases ranging from construction law to community association law. Among other cases, Brian was counsel of record in the 2007 case of Reidy v. Whitehart which affirmed the constitutionality of North Carolina’s Planned Community Act as applied to pre-1999 communities. Brian has spoken at various seminars for the community association industry at both the state and national level. He is the author of the North Carolina bar Association’s 2013 publication, Common Interest Communities in North Carolina, an 800 page legal treatise on planned communities, condominiums, townhomes and other forms of common interest communities. Brian is a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in History and Political Science from Western Carolina University in 1997 and his law degree from Villanova University in 2000. In 2003, Brian was the recipient of the Western Carolina University Young Alumnus Award and from 2003 to 2005 he served on the Board of Directors for the Western Carolina University Alumni Association. He was named by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. He was named a “Super Lawyer” by the same publication in 2015 and 2016.
