Biography

Dr. McNair is from Cincinnati, Ohio. He received a B.A. in History from Purdue University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in History from Duke University. He has taught at Campbell since 1993. He teaches history courses in Western Civilization, Ancient Greece and Rome, English History, the Renaissance and Reformation, Early Modern Europe, Modern Europe and the History of Medicine. His research interests are in the philosophical and theological traditions of the Renaissance and Reformation. He has published on the Italian Renaissance author Cristoforo Landino, and on Thomas Aquinas, Albert the Great, Martin Luther, and John Calvin. In May, 2021, he received the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
