Biography

Dr. Hester has taught music to students from pre-kindergarten to college. He retired as a music specialist from J. Glenn Edwards Elementary School (K-5) for Lee Country Schools in Sanford, NC, where he was twice honored as Teacher of the Year. He has also served as a lead teacher for Lee County’s Kaleidoscope, a summer program for gifted rising sixth-grade students. He also participated in the pilot program for teacher evaluation for the North Carolina Department of Public instruction titled “Analyzing Student Work”. He played a major part in selecting the stops and console design of the Stephens Pipe Organ in Butler Chapel at Campbell University as well as being the featured performer for the dedication recital.
