Dr. David J. Calvert

Biography

Rev. Dr. David Calvert is a two-humped Camel (BA in Religion, MA in Christian Education) who returned to Buies Creek in 2026 after serving a local church for over 20 years as a Pastor for Creative Arts. David feels called to equip worship leaders and engage college students with thoughtful, impactful worship experiences. After his experiences in campus ministries at CU, which equipped him to fulfill his calling, David desires to help form the character of worship leaders and affirm their calling as well.

In addition to his CU degrees, David has a PhD in Theology & Worship from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Sarah and they have 4 children who love climbing trees on campus.
