David Orr, a native of Pulaski, New York, is a man who passionately seeks to serve others through the great game of golf. Orr’s responsibilities at Campbell include teaching player development classes and providing private lessons, group lessons, short game clinics, and swing instruction classes. Prior to his arrival at Campbell University, he served as the Head Golf Instructor at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Resort in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
Mr. Orr has been teaching golf for the past 24 years. During this period, he has instructed golfers of all levels, from beginners to those who compete at the highest levels, including more than 50 tour players from the PGA, European, & LPGA Tours. He has conducted 28 studies in putting research, which he has presented in conferences across the country. Orr is a PGA Tour Instructor and a member of the Titleist Leadership Advisory Staff.
Orr was an award-winning collegiate golfer at Bridgewater College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from SUNY Oswego. He was recently honored as the winner of the prestigious 2011 Palmer Maples Teacher of the Year for the Carolinas PGA Section.
