Biography

Dr. Avila Misciagno joined Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in June 2022. She teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate clinical research programs. Prior to joining Campbell, she practiced as a Board Certified in Gerontology Occupational Therapist and worked in higher education as an Assistant Professor and Doctoral Capstone Coordinator. Dr. Misciagno graduated from Creighton University in 2019, where she completed a post-professional doctoral degree in occupational therapy. She has been involved in research studies on Alzheimer’s disease and other neurocognitive disorders. Her current research interest includes translation projects in chronic disease management, stroke, Parkinson’s, other neurological conditions, and healthy aging.
