Biography

Since arriving in 1992, Dr. Peterman has taught Academic Writing, American and British literature survey courses, English 407 (Nineteenth-Century American Literature), English 408 (Early Twentieth-Century Literature), English 415 (History of the American Novel), English 416 (Modern/Contemporary Fiction), English 417 (Modern/Contemporary Poetry), English 418 (Southern American Literature), and Seminars on William Faulkner, Literature of the Great War, and Women’s Literature. She has also taught in the Honors Program. Dr. Peterman’s major academic interests are American Modernism, Southern Literature, and Literature of World War I. Originally from Harriman, Tennessee, Dr. Peterman received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Tennessee Tech University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina.
