Dr. Danelisen was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina where he obtained his Medical Doctor (MD) degree from the University of Banja Luka in 1994. Soon after the graduation from his medical school program, Dr. Danelisen started and completed his Master of Science Degree (MSc) at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He continued his academic pursuit and successfully defended his doctorate in 2005. He was awarded the academic title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2006 at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. In 2018, Dr. Danelisen obtained his Masters of Business Administration degree (MBA) from The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, Campbell University.
Dr. Danelisen has extensive experience in medical, professional and graduate school education. He was a founding faculty in two medical school programs. He has a passion for medical education where he is focusing on the integration of clinical and basic science concepts. His research interest is in education research as well as translational research in cardiology and cardiovascular pathophysiology.
Dr. Danelisen is currently serving as a chair of the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology and as an Assistant Dean for Faculty at Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine, Campbell University.
