Dr. Jason Jianchu Yao

Biography
Dr. Jianchu (Jason) Yao received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University in 2004. Dr. Yao joined Campbell University as Professor of Engineering in Fall 2019. Prior to Campbell, he has been a founding faculty of the Department of Engineering at East Carolina University.
Dr. Yao’s research interests include novel medical devices, telehealthcare, bioinstrumentation, biosignal processing, and control systems. His research has been funded by National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, National Institute of Health, and other funding agencies including North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Dr. Yao is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), where he has held multiple leadership roles on the IEEE-Education Activities Board since 2014, including Chair for the Continuing Education Committee and Chair of Educational Product Editorial Committee.
