Biography
Joseph A. Lowe, M.Ed., LCMHC-A, is a Behavioral Health Clinician for the CUSOM Department of Behavioral Health. He is licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. Joseph earned his Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina State University.
Joseph’s counseling approach is grounded in the belief that clients bring their own expertise, strengths, and lived experiences to the therapeutic process. He is committed to creating an environment where individuals feel welcomed, understood, and supported. His therapeutic work incorporates a variety of evidence-informed modalities, including Existential Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He also integrates Health at Every Size? (HAES) principles into his work with body image concerns and holistic wellness.
Joseph has experience supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity development, family and relational stress, academic and career challenges, and trauma. In his role, he provides psychotherapy to health professional graduate students at Campbell University and strives to partner with clients as they work toward meaningful personal and academic goals.
Outside of his clinical work, Joe enjoys running outdoors, reading science fiction, watching the NBA, and spending time with his growing family.
