Biography

Dr. Lopez joined the department in 2002, teaching courses in the areas of Old Testament and World Religions. Dr. Lopez’s academic work includes: journal editor and contributor, Review and Expositor: Book of Daniel; article in Cancer and Healing, Mercer Press (2011); Faith and Media Conference, Campbell University, “Stephen Colbert and the Writer of Job” (2011); SBL Annual Meeting, “The Levi Traditions Turned Upside Down” (2008); SECSOR Annual Meeting, “Crusader or Mass Murderer: The Levi Tradition and the Use of Violence to Create Social Identity” (2008).

Dr. Lopez has served in a numerous academic capacities including Religion Club faculty advisor (2003-present); G-Force club faculty advisor (2012-present); Faculty Senate (2006-present); and Student Life Committee (2004-present).
