Biography
Ken Hammer joins Campbell Law as a Visiting Professor in 2025. He will teach 1L Contracts Law and Copyright Law. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Campbell for 15 years and was named Adjunct Professor of the Year three times.
Ken retired in March 2025 from his position as Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer of Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, a leader in retail store technologies in over 40 countries.
Ken began his legal career in 1984 with the IBM Corporation. He held a variety of positions including Vice President & Associate General Counsel responsible for IBM’s Personal Computer Division. When IBM sold its PC business to Lenovo (a Chinese technology company) in 2006, Ken joined Lenovo as its Deputy General Counsel and its first lawyer outside of China.
He was selected to membership in the American Law Institute in 2009, has served as President of the local chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, and also served as the Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Strategic Planning Committee and Chair of the NCBA Mentoring Committee.
Ken has been recognized as a leader among corporate counsel by the North Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly, Business North Carolina Magazine and the Triangle Business Journal.
