Kensey Jones is the Director of Interprofessional Education for the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. For her undergraduate degree, she attended Clemson University receiving her Bachelors’ in Animal and Veterinary Science with a double minor in business administration and microbiology. Kensey’s passion for animal science and human science lead her to complete her Masters of Public Health (MPH) with a specialization in Veterinary Public Health (VPH) at The Ohio State University (OSU). The program at OSU focused on ‘One Health’ – the interconnectedness of humans, animals, plants, and the environment.
Kensey’s goals are to improve Interprofessional education (IPE) for healthcare professionals and optimize patient outcomes through: the advancement of knowledge and skills, the collaboration of healthcare teams, and the education of faculty, staff, students, and providers about a One Health approach to care. She believes that by providing effective IPE training, our first-line defenders, including medical and public health professionals, will be prepared to prevent and control infectious pathogens that cross species boundaries and threaten health security.
