Biography

Laura S. Wasco is a Research and Writing Attorney with the Office of the Federal Public Defender in the Eastern District of North Carolina. In addition to research and writing, she also manages the retroactive drug amendment projects, and is the co-editor for “The Zealous Advocate: Newsletter for the Defense.” Ms. Wasco received her Bachelor of Arts in 1999 from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and her Juris Doctorate in 2002 from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While in law school, she clerked for Judge John T.J. Kelly, Jr. on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. After graduation, Ms. Wasco clerked for Judge C. Clarke Raley on the St. Mary’s County Circuit Court (Maryland) and the late Magistrate Judge David W. Daniel on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Ms. Wasco is admitted to practice in North Carolina and Maryland.
