Dr. Roukema earned her B.A. in middle grades education with concentrations in Social Studies and English Language Arts as well as her M.A. in middle grades education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her certification in Administration and Supervision from Pembroke University and then went on to earn a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a concentration in curriculum and instruction from Fayetteville State. She taught 7th and 8th grades for 9 years before transitioning into assistant principal and principal positions in middle school, elementary, and primary placements. When not working, she enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, running, and horseback riding.
