Biography

Dr. Brinkley joined the Campbell University College of Arts and Science‘s Christian Studies Department in the Fall of 2012 and previously served for 13 years as Director of Church, Alumni, and Student Relations at the Divinity School. She is also an adjunct professor for the Divinity School‘s MA in Christian Ministry and Master of Divinity programs.

Dr. Brinkley is currently serving as the Pan African Koinonia Field Ministry Coordinator for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, working to build relationships with Black clergy and connect them to CBF for fellowship, partnership, and justice work. She is passionate about fostering a beloved community, preaching, and advocating for the marginalized and oppressed.

Dr. Brinkley has a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Carolina State University, a Master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School, a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Howard University School of Divinity. Additionally, she has held leadership roles with the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and served as the Associate Director of Baptist Women in Ministry. In 2014, Dr. Brinkley published, Manners and Money: A Manual on Preaching Etiquette which addresses proper pulpit decorum and hospitality towards guest ministers.
