Biography

Mallory Underwood began as the Assistant Dean of Career and Professional Development at Campbell Law on May 27, 2024. Previously, Underwood served as Director of Career and Professional Development at Campbell for two and a half years. As Director, she advised students on all aspects of professional development and career planning and helped match law students and recent graduates with employers for internships and post graduate jobs.

Prior to joining Campbell Law, Underwood was a partner at Raleigh civil litigation firm Teague Campbell, where she practiced for more than a decade. While at the firm, she served on the recruiting committee and was involved in the law student summer intern program. After leaving private practice, Underwood worked as a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Certified Mediator, helping parties navigate conflict and resolve disputes in civil and workers’ compensation cases. More recently, she specialized in strategic communications for Metro Productions, assisting mission driven non-profits with content creation and storytelling.

Underwood graduated cum laude from University of South Carolina in 1992 and earned her JD from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995. In law school, Underwood was a member of the Moot Court Board, a Team Finalist in the Tulane Sports Law Moot Court Competition, and was inducted into the Order of Barristers.

Currently, she is a member of the Professionalism Committee for both the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) and the Wake County Bar Association (WCBA) and is involved in the National Association for Law Placement (NALP).  Active in the community, Underwood’s volunteer experience includes past service as Chair of the Magellan Charter School Board of Directors.
