Biography

Brian Bowman focuses on storytelling and converged media, primarily through video. With more than 20 years of experience in the communication industry, he works closely with students to develop a better understanding of media and its role in a free society.

Bowman was a reporter at WRAL News (metro Research Triangle area) and a reporter/anchor at WNCT (eastern NC) for several years before transitioning to public relations. His public relations work earned numerous national and regional awards from peer groups for video and social media.

Bowman earned a Master of Arts in Technology and Communication from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2013. His master’s thesis highlighted the role of social media in successful efforts to attract businesses to downtown Raleigh and Durham.

Bowman serves as executive producer of Campbell Now TV, Campbell University’s student-led television venture. He is a certified College Media Advisor through the College Media Association.
