Biography
Dr. Robin Baker is an Assistant Professor of Health Sciences in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Campbell University in Lillington, NC. She earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, with a focus on Pre-Physical Therapy and Athletic Training from Howard University in 2002. Dr. Baker graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2006. She completed a two-year faculty development residency through Duke University’s DPT Program in 2024. Dr. Baker is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Association of Black Physical Therapists.
Her primary research interests include physical therapy student recruitment and development, along with best practices in professional education. Her recent work has focused on the attributes of effective DPT advisors. Clinically, she is passionate about neurological rehabilitation and the use of functional electrical stimulation to improve outcomes and reduce secondary complications in individuals with neurologic conditions.
Dr. Baker is deeply committed to mentoring and educating students. She creates a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages self-discovery, critical thinking, and professional growth. Through innovative teaching strategies and personalized mentorship, she aims to empower students to find their purpose and confidently pursue impactful careers in physical therapy.
