Biography

Dr. Ron Tredway, a Campbell alumnus, brings considerable leadership and management experience to his faculty role. His 40 years of progressive management/leadership experience in university, banking, aviation, telecom, and military organizations includes roles in electronics/engineering, manufacturing, training, customer service, R&D, field service, human resources, and leadership/organizational development in both internal and external consulting capacities in multiple states and countries. At the University of Tennessee for over 10 years, he had responsibility for Leadership Institute, a state-wide leadership development program, UT Succession Planning, a leadership identification, assessment, and development program used by all seven UT campuses and institutes, and as associate leader of the Executive Leadership Institute for 2 years before his retirement there in 2020, as Executive Director of Employee and Organizational Development. He continues to consult, serve on boards, and work with Triangle area business owners for CBMC, facilitating Trusted Advisor Forums (peer advisory groups).

Ron’s passion for helping individuals and organizations improve their performance through growth strategies is coupled with a strong desire to serve God by living as an ambassador for Christ in the marketplace. Having completed a BSBA from NC Wesleyan, MBA from Campbell, and doctorate in human resource development from NCSU, he is humbled and honored to serve the students, faculty and staff of Campbell University as an instructor on leadership and management topics.

In previous roles Dr. Tredway managed operations and work teams for multiple diverse organizations. He has been a regional, state and national conference speaker on leadership development, succession planning, and change management, and holds professional certifications as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) by the Association of Talent Development Certification Institute (ATDCI), and the Society of Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by SHRM. Program certifications include Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Life Orientations (LIFO), Organization Workshop (OW), and Franklin-Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Adjunct faculty experience includes undergraduate and MBA courses for Dallas Baptist University in Texas, Eastern Mennonite University and James Madison University in Virginia, Kennesaw State University in Georgia, and NC Wesleyan and Campbell University in North Carolina. Courses taught included Management and Organizational Theory, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management Decision-Making, High-Performance Work Teams, International Management, Change Management, and Management Information Systems.
