Ruth Cooper

Biography

Ruth Cooper is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor providing on site mental health support to students. Counseling is a second career for Ruth. She spent twenty five years as a horticulturist growing flowers in commercial greenhouses.

Ruth graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Campbell University in 2018. She spent the next two years in a Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy Residency associated with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. During those two years Ruth was employed by CareNet Counseling and worked in their office in Erwin, NC.

Ruth began her own private practice called RLC Counseling, in 2021. She joined the law school in August of 2021 and has been able to work with students doing psychotherapy, as well as education on emotional health, self-awareness, and time management. Ruth uses an Existential approach to therapy using Internal Family Systems, and Hypnotherapy.
