Biography

Dr. Engel arrived at Campbell University in the fall of 1999 after serving fifteen years across three public school systems. He served as the assistant dean beginning August of 2004 through 2021 and is now serving as the Associate Dean. Dr. Engel served as the Interim Dean during the 2019-2020 academic year. He has been the coordinator for Graduate Programs for over twenty years and also serves as the academic advisor to the Residency candidates (replaced lateral entry candidates). He continues to enjoy teaching EDUC 648 Governance of the Schools which he has done beginning in the 2000-2001 academic year. Lastly, he serves as the Education Lead in the Master’s in Health Professions Education (MHPE) program where he also co-teaches MHPE 540 Applied Education Skills.
