Biography

Dr. Truffin joined Campbell’s English Department in 2011 after teaching at colleges and universities in Georgia, Illinois, and Ohio. Her primary scholarly interests are Modern American Fiction, Gothic literature, and Women’s Literature, but she has taught courses in Advanced Grammar and Composition, Editing, the History of the English Language, Postcolonial Literature, and the World Novel. Her publications include the book Schoolhouse Gothic and articles on James Baldwin, Joyce Carol Oates, Stephen King, Chuck Palahniuk, the television show The X-Files, and Romantic themes in popular music.

Dr. Truffin was appointed as Director of the Campbell University Honors Program in 2018.
