Biography

Dr. Stephanie Lambeth Mathews is an Assistant Professor at Campbell University in the Biological Sciences Department. She received her PhD in Microbiology at North Carolina State University. She is from Winston-Salem, North Carolina where her love of biology started in early explorations of all things living on her grandfather’s farm. Dr. Mathews currently studies bacteria which break down recalcitrant compounds including wood, industrial waste from pulp and paper factories, and polyester.
