Biography

Susan Stevens Dunn served as Visiting Professor of Law at the Norman Adrian Wiggins Campbell University School of Law for academic year 2014-2015, teaching Sales and Leases, Contract Planning and Real Estate Finance. Since 2015, she has taught Sales and Leases and Contract Planning.

Before this appointment, Professor Dunn taught for six years at the North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, NC, where her courses included Sales and Secured Transactions, International Business Transactions, Real Estate Finance and Antitrust and Competition Law.

A member of the State Bars of Texas (inactive), Massachusetts (inactive) and North Carolina (active), Professor Dunn has over thirty years’ practice experience in the private sector, including work as an associate attorney in civil law firms located in Fort Worth, TX and in Boston, MA; subsequently, seventeen years as head of litigation for U.S. subsidiaries of two global pharmaceutical companies based in Research Triangle Park, NC. Her principal substantive areas of practice included litigation and complex litigation involving commercial, antitrust and intellectual property disputes as well as pharmaceutical products liability. She also has experience as a corporate General Counsel and has served as an advisor to start-up businesses in North Carolina, and continues to consult from time to time.

Professor Dunn is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States; the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; and the Fifth and First Circuit Courts of Appeals, as well as a number of United States District Courts, including the Middle District of NC. She is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, participating in the Business Law and International Law and Business Sections.
