Biography
Teresa Artis is an adjunct faculty member of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. She is a member of the Intellectual Property Rights Team at TWR, a 60-year old global media ministry that uses broadcast, web and mobile platforms to reach people in over 160 countries with inspirational content in over 220 languages. She works with staff and outside IP counsel developing and implementing strategies for IP compliance worldwide, especially related to digital media distribution. She has also drafted and reviewed production, content acquisition and content distribution agreements between TWR, global content providers and global distribution partners.
Ms. Artis is a board member of Rex Healthcare, Inc. where she chairs the Quality, Patient Safety and HR Committee. The 2013 President of the Research Triangle Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, she also serves on the chapter’s board of directors. She is also a member of the Christian Legal Society.
Her media career includes work as Vice President of Business Affairs at a domestic subsidiary of Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta, Vice President of Licensing and Business Development at Art.com in Raleigh and as General Counsel of Capitol Broadcasting Company in Raleigh. She has also served as a corporate lending associate in Atlanta for what is now Kilpatrick Townsend.
Ms. Artis earned a B.A. degree, with honors, in Economics & Public Policy from UNC-Chapel Hill. She earned a J.D. degree and an MBA degree from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, respectively.
