Dr. Teresa Helmlinger Ratcliff is Director of Interprofessional Education and Outreach at Campbell’s School of Engineering. In this capacity, she works with industries in eastern North Carolina who are interested in partnering with the School, engaging and mentoring students, volunteering for School activities, and hiring student interns and full-time employees upon graduation.
Dr. Ratcliff previously retired as Vice Provost for Outreach and Engagement and Executive Director of Industry Expansion Solutions at NC State University in 2016. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina and was the first national woman President of the National Society of Professional Engineering (NSPE) in 2003-04. Dr. Ratcliff served on the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors from 2006-2016 and has served on a variety of task forces for the National Council of Examiners of Engineers and Surveyors, among numerous other professional activities. She served as an NSPE Alternate Appointed Board member for ABET, the engineering accreditation association, from 2008-2013. She is a member of the 2001 Class for Leadership North Carolina and has received numerous awards, including Fellow of the NSPE, Fellow of the Professional Engineers of North Carolina, as well as the 2010 University Continuing Education Association Outreach and Engagement Community of Practice Award.
