Dr. Tom Hatten is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and is core faculty for the Harnett Health Family Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Hatten earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Science at Bryan College in 1978 and a Bachelor of Science degree in the Physician Assistant Program at the Medical College of Georgia in 1984. He is a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree in 1993. Dr. Hatten completed his Family Medicine Residency training at Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL. He is recently retired from the United States Navy after serving 32 years, attaining to the rank of Captain. He has extensive experience in Family Medicine practice in both military and civilian settings.
Dr. Hatten has a strong interest in Missions Medicine and Global Health. He and his family have lived, worked and continue to be involved with ministry in Haiti. He and his wife, Carolyn, have five children.
